Kathryn Murray

Kathryn Murray joined ILS in January 2020 as a Statewide Implementation Attorney after spending fourteen years as a Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society in New York City. While at the Legal Aid Society, she worked as a trial attorney in Criminal Defense Division of the Brooklyn and Staten Island offices, and served on the Executive Board of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys from 2014-2015.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Kathryn is excited to be working to improve the quality of indigent defense across New York State by supporting the unique needs of providers across urban, suburban and rural communities.

Kathryn graduated from the State University of New York – Purchase College with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2001 and received her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law in 2005.
