Lucy McCarthy

Lucy McCarthy is the Director of Quality Enhancement for Parent Representation. She is broadly responsible for monitoring, studying, and making recommendations to improve the quality of adult representation in family court for everyone who qualifies under County Law Article 18-b. She also served as Assistant Counsel for Parent Representation at ILS. Prior to joining ILS, Lucy worked for the New York State Defenders Association, providing legal assistance and coordinating training and networking events for public defense attorneys. Lucy is an experienced public defender in criminal, treatment, and family courts. She is a graduate of the University of Montana and Vermont Law School and is admitted to practice in Vermont and New York.
