Gracja Nowak

Gracja Nowak is an Assistant Appellate Attorney at the ILS Statewide Appellate Support Center. Prior to joining ILS, Gracja was a Staff Attorney with The Legal Project for over ten years and exclusively practiced in the field of matrimonial and family law where she represented underserved communities in contested and uncontested matrimonial cases, orders of protection, custody, and support matters. In addition to training program attorneys, law students, and staff in matrimonial and family law, she has delivered informative presentations within the community on various family law topics, with a particular focus on how these issues intersect with domestic violence. She has also appealed family court decisions for review by the Appellate Division Third Judicial Department and has experience handling criminal cases in Rensselaer County. Her extensive knowledge of family law litigation in the Capital Region of New York has fueled her passion for improving the quality of mandated representation statewide, supporting the needs of providers, and ensuring equitable representations for all clients across New York State. Gracja earned her J.D. from Albany Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
